APK Boys playing a set

APK Boys

APK BOYS bring a no-nonsense attitude and a heavy dose of funk to the Dutch underground electronic scene. With a sound rooted in electro, breakbeat and house, the duo fuse punchy rhythms, wonky grooves and infectious melodies into music made to move bodies and shake soundsystems. Their name nods to the Dutch vehicle inspection APK, but instead of checking cars, they deliver quality control on beats, bass and melodies. Expect loads of funk and a playful, unpredictable energy that keeps the dance floor on its toes. APK BOYS are here to bang out music. Raw, energetic and unapologetically groove-driven, their approach is simple: turn it up, trust the funk and let the music do the talking.

Rambert in Hop(e)storm by (LA)HORDE photography by Hugo Glendinning

Rambert

Rambert is one of the world’s most diverse companies of dancers. They transform everyday spaces by making dance that is awe-inspiring, adventurous, dynamic, and relevant, and taking it to their neighbourhood, the nation and the world. For 100 years, Rambert has been a progressive force in the international dance world: a company that gives space to new choreographic voices, pushes boundaries, and constantly shows where dance can go.

Hop(e)storm is a new choreography commissioned specifically for Rambert’s dancers, created by the French collective (LA)HORDE, who are known for post‑internet dance and socially charged movement languages. The piece channels the rhythms and spirit of Lindy Hop, the swing dance born in Harlem’s African American communities in the 1920s–30s, and reframes it through a contemporary rave‑culture lens. This epic collaboration is also the first time the trend-setting French collective (LA)HORDE stages two of their repertoire pieces, Weather is Sweet and Room with a View, on another dance company than their own Ballet Natonal de Marseille.
